As you can probably tell from yesterday's story, stress is beginning to creep back into my life. Christine and I have a major job to redecorate our cottage which will take some months. So What! We are retired it's time to take stock and chill out. Right?
We have only been back three weeks from our extended stay in The Bahamas and already stress is returning. In Session 15 a month or so ago whilst still in the Bahamas, I talked about how they coped with stress over there and posed the question "Who's Got It Right". Joe, whose water supply didn't work, was he stressed? No. His view was, would it matter in three months time whether it was fixed on Tuesday this week or Tuesday next week. And is he right? Well all I can say is there didn't seem to be a whole lot of stress on the island.
So from today forward it's relax time. The tiles in the Garden Room are being laid today, we may start to decorate a different room but if not then we will do it tomorrow or the next day. Does it matter? Of course not.
Christine can take as long as she needs to decide on colour schemes and furnishing because one thing is certain, she will make the end result excellent. The Black Book is to be discarded. Breakfast TV and LK Today are to become a way of life together with wallpaper paste for breakfast.
Hang on! I'm rambling. I don't mind chilling but not that much. This article is about taking stock and I will cover how we are coping with each other another day but for the moment I have three goals:
1. To use the Black Book. This I consider essential to daily planning. I think you know Christines view of the book but I will persevere.
2. Get rid of Breakfast TV particularly LK Today and introduce Christine to Wake up to Wogan.
3. Dump the wallpaper paste, as a breakfast food.
Considering while at work my role was to make changes throughout the business which invariably meant getting people to do things they didn't want to do, these three aims shouldn't be beyond me. But then again none of the people were Christine.
